Drainpipe in the summer

If you're in London today, you'll know that it is bucketing down with rain. That's partly why I've chosen to post a photo taken earlier in the summer of, well, a wall. It's at Hampton Court, where we went on a day trip. So presumably it's a very old wall. Trains leave from Waterloo station so you can go see this, and other, old walls. Once there, we got lost in the maze and I'm pretty sure we ended up exiting the way we came in rather than do it the right way. Or we may have tried again. I can't remember, but all I know was that after 10 minutes of aimlessly wandering around it wasn't all that fun anymore! Speaking of fun, we're going to see Radiohead at Earl's Court tonight AND tomorrow. It looks like it's going to be a weekend full of sleep... but it'll be worth it :) Rob will take pics!

Well done on getting concert tickets! I actually wondered about what you wrote: is it generally allowed to haul a camera along to concerts and take pictures? Do you know any general rules (I know they're ultraparanoid with video cameras and sounds recording equipment, for natural reasons....)

Well ... we've been to plenty of concerts where photos are allowed, or at least were not confiscated - the last Radiohead one at Shepherd's Bush Empire, for instance - but I haven't been to Earl's Court so I don't know about their policy. A colleague of mine has lots of audio/video clips on his site taken at Goldfrapp with his digital camera ! To be safe we're just bringing a point and shoot with 1600 speed film rather than an SLR just in case it gets taken away! :) Oh - and you see so many people with camera phones at these things nowadays so there's always going to be some record of the event :)
